Social Media help for Artist's

That wonderful algorithm keeps changing on social media. I have to admit it has changed so much throughout the years. I guess we need to thank Mark more since it is a free tool to utilize. Hey, thank you Mr. Mark Zuckerberg! With all the advertising it is getting more and more difficult for Artist’s to connect with their viewers, collectors and other Artist’s. We are not being seen in the roll. It’s not uncommon for me to see 5 or 6 unrelated ads before I see one of your posts. If I ever see it at all. I know it’s time consuming but block out ten minutes to support one another.

Here is a simple list of things you can do to support Artist’s online.

  1. Share their posts or website or instagram or facebook feed.

  2. Like and comment about their post. Most Artist love to respond to your comment. That is if it’s kind. Keep it simple. But we all have had our fair share of mean posts. Kindness wins.

  3. Buy their art. Or request info about a piece of art. All those dead Artist’s don’t need your support!

  4. Attend ongoing workshops/classes. Request a class.

  5. Go to their Art shows or Art fairs.

  6. Request a commission if they have an opening. Some Artist only do commissions certain times of the year. That would be me. I open them up twice a year. Still working on a big one now.

  7. Share their pinterest feed (artbytsh2)

  8. Check out their You tube feed ( Artby tsh) if they have one. Comment on those short videos. They do take some time to make and film. Same goes for Reels on instagram (artbytsh). Make a comment on a reels they make. It all takes valuable time.

  9. Share something funny with your favorite Artist.

  10. Ask for advice or a comment on a piece of your artwork or design.

  11. Let me know what you think of my blogs on my website. (artbytsh)

  12. Join their email list so that you can stay current with sales, or discounts or art information. Most email lists are found on an artist’s web page.

  13. I make comments all the time on other Artist’s feeds and your regular feeds. Be sure to reciprocate to others. This is how we all stay in the roll on social media.

Be kind to each other and be well. Support all mental health initiatives! Art is good for the brain.

Remember there is room at the art table for all types of genre’s of painters ( abstract, realism, modern, mixed media, wall graffiti , drawings, contemporary, expressionism, portraits, etc) . They all have value. They all have their unique artist’s signature style and heartfelt thoughts and songs imbedded in each brush stroke. It does take skill and talent. It takes being consistent with painting and being disciplined. ———————————————————————————————————————————-
